Mission Statement

Mission Statement

The mission of Abundant Life Community Church is to diligently seek, passionately reach, and lovingly teach lost individuals to accept and live the abundant life in Jesus Christ.

Our mission statement was developed from two passages of scripture. Both of them were spoken by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28: 19 - 20

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

This passage contains three components of our mission statement:
"Go" - this represents the diligently seek portion of our mission statement. Christ wants us to go after those who are not eternally saved.
"Make disciples"; "baptize them" - this represents the passionately reach portion of our mission statement. It is not enough to just go - we must reach people for the Kingdom of God.
"Teach them to observe all that I have commanded" - this represents the lovingly teach portion of our mission statement. We must continuously teach and grow believers towards Christian maturity.

John 10: 10

The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly.

There are four key items in this passage:
Christ states the thief's/Satan's primary motives: to steal, kill, and destroy.
Christ highlights the stark contrast between His mission and the enemy's mission.
The word "life" is translated time with vitality.
The word "abundant" is translated beyond measure.
Jesus Christ in essence was saying He came that we would
• have time with vitality
• and have it beyond measure.

Every member in Abundant Life Community Church will be asked to embody this mission statement.
